Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport Minister Obaidul Quader led the Awami League delegation during talks with Dr. Vijay Chauthaiwale. Several senior leaders including Awami League praesidium member Matia Chowdhury and Kazi Zafarullah and office Secretary Biplab Barua were present during the meeting. They stressed the need to enhance the existing bilateral ties between the two countries in the days to come. Lauding Bangladesh for the successful handling of the Covid 19 pandemic, Dr. Chauthaiwale praised Prime Minister Hasina for keeping the wheel of the country’s economy operational during the pandemic, reports the official news agency BSS.
Later on Monday night, the BJP Foreign Affairs Department Incharge Dr. Vijay Chauthaiwale held an informal meeting with leaders of the minority community in Bangladesh including Cabinet Minister Sadhan Chandra Majumder, leaders of Puja Committee, VHP and Bangladesh Hindu Buddhist Christian Unity Council. Dr. Chauthaiwale also met a delegation of the leaders of the 14 party alliance led by its coordinator and spokesperson Amir Hossain Amu.
Dr. Chauthaiwale started his visit to Dhaka by paying tribute to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Bangabandhu Memorial Museum in Dhanmondi. He is visiting Dhaka on the invitation of Awami League to initiate party to party dialogue.
